Condensing a year of challenges, triumphs and action plans for Harpic going forward into just 10 slides is no mean feat!
But that was the benchmark the Australian brand teams were briefed on for our recent business review.
One of the challenges I’ve faced at RB (and still continuously do while working on developing) are strategic thinking skills.
Whilst there are usually copious amounts of data, insights generated and stories to tell it is often difficult to “see the forest through the trees”- one of my manager’s favourite expressions although I never quite understood the saying until my current role.
An ability to decipher the bigger picture is an essential skill to stay ahead of the game and a pre-requisite for any market leader such as RB.
Compiling a retrospective of the challenges we faced (from our competitors and the environment) and the things that worked well for us, was a good start in setting the scene for 2010 and beyond.
SUCCESS: One of our triumphs – Harpic Hygienic TVC- Australia
So if I was to sum up the Australian business review experience in 10 words or less?
Stressful Challenging Inspiring Rewarding . . . and happy to see the end!
Next week I’ll be missing in action from the blog for a week as we’re off to New Zealand for our Sales and Marketing conference.
But stay tuned as fancy dress and sky diving awaits . . .
