RB’s very own Shah Rukh Khan – the day I became a supermodel

By

In the year 2006, Shah Rukh Khan (arguably India’s most popular movie star) made an appearance in a bath tub for a beauty soap.
In India, this was the first appearance of a male in the segment traditionally dominated by gorgeous women.

Now, I am a die hard optimist. I would like to believe that what happened to me last Saturday was my first step towards becoming a SUPERMODEL!

One of the numerous perks of being at Reckitt Benckiser is that we have a conference at the end of the year in a foreign locale.
This year, RB is taking us to exotic Bali (more on that later).
There are videos shot by each region in line with different awards to be presented. In RB, we are used to competing for everything … and in this case it was for the best music video.

The setting was rustic, the song catchy and the actors … a little wet behind the ears.
There was a part where we had to showcase the fragrance of Dettol soap, and Mr Sharma (Area Sales Manager, Delhi) vociferously ensured that I got the role.

Delhi is not Siberia, but is quite cold in November. Taking a bath with cold water is honestly not amusing, more so when you have to do it in front of a hundred people!

The shirt came off and the body was soaped repeatedly over multiple takes. Several shivering moments and half a bar later, the director was finally satisfied.
I honestly hope they at least digitally edit my 2 pack to a 6

People, I want to get into branding … but with my clothes on!
