Im so proud of all of us at RB for making such a difference with Save the Children - Part 2

Day 2  - Drop-In Centres

When I’d watched Slumdog Millionaire the extreme poverty had almost seemed staged.

Halla – Marketing

Brand Manager

Name: Halla
Nationality: British
Where I work for RB: Hull, UK – Marketing

Education: Since I was 16 I wanted to work in Marketing, so I took the academic and extra curricular path I thought would best equip me to achieve my career goals – Warwick University Business School – BSc International Business with Spanish.

During my time I took on a variety of Union responsibilities and activities to broaden my skills base and importantly to have fun!

Career:I also ensured every summer holiday was packed with relevant work placements (e.g. Marketing Assistant in a multinational Investment Bank in Madrid, PR Exec in a City based company, Account Manager for a multinational).
Securing good work placements was challenging, however my resilience paid off and helped me land the RB job.

In 2004 I started on the RB Commercial Graduate Scheme and nearly 5 years later, my RB career has flown past in a whirlwind path through our key functions and biggest brands.

Commercial Graduate Scheme

  • Account Executive on Boots (6 months)
  • Trade Marketing Executive (6 months)
  • Marketing Executive on Gaviscon & Senokot (1 yr)

After the scheme

  • Assistant Brand Manager Nurofen (1 yr) Highlight was to develop and launch a training package for Pharmacies which has gone on to become the most successful training for RB and for the industry with over 25 thousand pharmacy staff on the course.
  • Brand Manager on Nurofen (1yr) Highlight was delivering our biggest ever healthcare new product launch, reinvigorating the brand and winning numerous industry awards.
  • Senior Brand Manager Strepsils (current) – Currently developing the plans to take the Strepsils brand to the next level of success. The work I’m doing now will be live and you’ll see it on TV and in-store this Sept onwards, in time for the cold & flu season, but for now its secret so I can’t say too much!
