Holger – Sales
Area Sales Manager
Name: Holger
Nationality: German
Where I work for RB: Germany – Sales Department
Education: I graduated in Business Economics from the University of Hamburg. During my studies I stayed half a year at the Murdoch University in Perth, Western Australia. The final step of my time as a student was my diploma thesis within the adidas company where I made a research project about the influence of different forms of advertisements on the brand strength and the brand image.
Career: I started working for RB in June 2009 as a Sales Representative. I work 3-4 days a week within the Field Sales Force where I take care of the 4P of our brands at the point of sale within large-scale retail stores. In addition I negotiate about special orders by single stores or huge presences of our power brands. On-the-spot support is my daily business. 1-2 days a week I work at our German headquarter in Mannheim. I support my Field Operation Manager and my Head of Field Sales with special projects like a Distribution Tracker, the reorganisation of our Field Sales Force areas or the preparation of trainings for our Leased Sales Force. To prepare my next career step I take part in additional projects within the marketing department like a promotion project for our power brands.
Before I joined RB I worked for almost 4 years as a freelancer for the adidas company where I was a team leader for event-, retail and grassroots-marketing projects all across central Europe.
During my studies I worked in several companies as an intern within sales and marketing departments. The most exciting internship was a job training in New York City. I worked at an advertising agency at Broadway and Wall Street while participating in the Pall Mall Initiative 2007. This initiative gives young professionals the opportunity to get first hand working experiences in one of the most exciting cities in the world: NYC.
Before my studies I lived up to my childhood dream. By the age of 20 I signed my first contract as a professional basketball player in Wuerzburg, the city where Dirk Nowitzki comes from who joined our practice every now and then during the summer. And let me tell: he is an amazing personality and an unbelievable good basketball player.
As the son of a sailor it was always important to me to see a lot of different cultures in the world and being open minded to new things and new ideas. RB gives me the opportunity to connect these passions with my daily working life. And let me tell you one thing: if you are passionate for what you are doing – within RB you will find a lot of like-minded people.
