RB Australia - Marketing and Sales Conference 2010

It’s a little quiet in the office today with everyone a little weary and worn out from the last few days of beaches, parties, celebrations, spa’s … oh and work presentations and conference. Yep, it’s that time again, the Australian Conference 2010!

We left Sydney bound for the Crowne Plaza, Terrigal early Monday morning, had a bite to eat and then got stuck into a bit of team building – what better activity than Bare Foot Bowls! Whilst I wasn’t able to bring my knowledge and expertise of the game to the table much (I can’t say bowling is my forte!), everyone still managed to have a fabulous time catching up, having a drink and using all their energy to get the ball closer than any of their teammates could – Reckitt Benckiser competitive? Never! :)

The next day was Conference Day, whereby each respective brand and account team presented updates to the business regarding strategies and new product developments for 2011, new TVC’s and advertising as well as results [...]

Natalie – Marketing

Assistant Brand Manager

Name: Natalie Hausman

Nationality: Australian

Where I work for RB: Australia – Marketing

Education: I completed a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of New South Wales, with a triple major in Marketing, International Business and Tourism & Hospitality. I also studied at Kenvale College and received Diplomas in Event Management and Hospitality Management.

Career: Almost 2 years ago, I chose the RB Commercial Graduate program over other companies because of its strong portfolio of consumer brands, as well as the endless opportunities for a rewarding career at the very forefront of FMCG.

Before having any idea of who RB even were, I knew I would need to get some industry-related experience if I were to have any chance of winning a graduate position at the end of my studies. I took up a Marketing Communications role at a global marketing and media agency and looked after clients such as Frucor and Sony Pictures.

I made the decision to fast-track my career by beginning my first rotation while I was still studying – working as a Sales Representative on the Grocery team in the field. I then transitioned into a Territory Manager role in the Pharmacy channel, navigating across NSW with my very own company car (Ford Territory 4WD – definitely a big step up from my small Holden Barina!)

I was appointed Sales Analyst for the Independents Stream as my second rotation in the Graduate Program. I knew that the copious hours of staring at small numbers on spreadsheets would be a challenge, but I have somehow learnt to love it! I have also been lucky enough to undertake Account Management in this role and take care of 3 accounts all on my own – a rare graduate opportunity which has been a fantastic experience.

2011 is looking to be yet another whirlwind of excitement with my appointment to Assistant Brand Manager for one of RB’s biggest Power brands, Nurofen, just days ago. New challenges and opportunities, more chances to outperform – as you can see, there is never a quiet day at RB!
