Injela – Marketing
Name: Injela
Nationality: Pakistani
Where and what I work for: Reckitt Benckiser, Pakistan; Marketing
Education: I graduated from the Institute of Business Administration in 2010 majoring in Marketing, with a very clear idea of what career I wanted to pursue. I also graduated as a Bachelor in Business from the same institute.
Career: I have worked for a range of fields within business – enriching the experience and providing a solid holistic perspective on things. I started interning right after A-levels with a local bank. During University days, I worked with Gallup Pakistan in the consumer panel department, understanding and implementing the finer points of consumer research. I moved to Unilever next year for an internship where I was actively involved in launching traditional desserts in Pakistan.
In search of something exciting and fun after my Bachelors, I landed a job at Group M ESP- an entertainment & sports marketing consultancy and a subsidiary of GroupM (which is the world’s largest advertising media company). The exposure further broadened my horizons and was the classic case of “work hard- party even harder”.
The work-life took a back seat when I returned to IBA for my Masters. Part of the course involves interning at a company, which for me, was at RB. I was later invited to join RB as Management Trainee upon graduated.
At the start of my RB stint as part of the Dettol team, I began taking over more responsibilities, including Dettol Multipurpose Cleaner, Dettol Hand Sanitizer. The experience was smashing indeed! No company in this world gives you the kind of exposure and ownership which I was given at the start of my career at RB. After 9 months however, I was promoted and was made the Assistant Brand Manager on Healthcare. To-date, this is what I’ve doing at RB and loving every moment of it!
