Marketing has ruined my shopping trips

One of the neuroses I have developed since working in Consumer Goods is an obsession with examining the shopping aisles in every new town I visit. Since I started working in this industry, I have no longer been able to easily hop into a store for a quick buy. If I am feeling bold, I ask shoppers why they picked up a particular product and their level of loyalty is often apparent based on their initial reactions.
