Does such a website exist?

I suppose the real question is, what makes the perfect company career page? What are visitors looking for?
As an intern, I would say job openings, information about the company, hints and tips on how to sail through the assessment process.

RB have really tried to make their careers site as interesting and informative as possible. But it’s an ongoing process and it is constantly evolving. The site has recently undergone an overhaul to make it more engaging and RB have tried to make it as easy as possible to navigate and find what you’re looking for. Essentially they’ve tried to make a site which is dedicated to showing you how your career could take off – and how to go about it!

The site aims to showcase the challenging career opportunities RB can offer to the right person. It still offers all the relevant content you need to learn about RB and jobs on offer here. But much more than that, it offers an in-depth insight into everything you need to know about the company in order to make an informed decision about whether RB, or indeed an FMCG company, is the career path for you.

So why is it so great? What should you have been investigating?

Try these for starters:

Opportunities

Whether it’s international jobs, graduate schemes, career paths or success stories, you’re looking for there is a wealth of information for researching a future at RB. And just to make it more interesting there are a handful of informative games, case studies and challenges to tackle along the way.

Graduate schemes
Career paths
Success stories
Informative games
Challenge

Student help

Invaluable advice and tips in the Student Toolkit, from the self explanatory Jargon Buster to advise on how to make the most out of college and lots of study tips. There is even an area for you to add your own snippets of advice.

Tips from the top

As a student one of the most useful things you can be given is advice from the movers and shakers within a company. The people who will be hiring you and who could be shaping your future.
RB has tried to give you access to these senior managers through a series of videos: Including words of advice from the CEO himself Bart Becht

The RB career site is great and the company has gone to great lengths to make it useful. But what do you think? Are they heading in the right direction? RB really values your feedback so if there is anything you love or think is missing or you think could make it even more valuable, please do drop us a line and let us know.

When you’re just about to finish university or college and start out on the career ladder, everything can seem pretty daunting.
Where do you start, what does all the jargon mean, and you’re probably thinking ‘how can I improve my chances of getting the job I WANT?’

I came across a blog post called What HR managers want on the career advice site Secrets of the Job Hunt and thought I would share some of its advice with you because this is an aspect that we usually don’t think about.
The post itself links to an interview with Libby Sartain, from Yahoo who answers questions like “How can a candidate break through the noise?” or “What makes a cover email and resume ‘pop’ for you?”.

This last question highlights one thing that all candidates should be focusing on from the very first moment: showing a unique personality.
If you watch the following video you’ll see why personality is a key driver when recruiting someone:

Nevertheless, Libby Sartain goes a step further saying that a candidate should be able to show their personality even through the cover e-mail (otherwise, how would an employer differenciatte between you and others?).
She suggests candidates do a self-discovery experience based on writing a 50 to 75-word “elevator pitch” for an imaginary listener, while answering the following questions:

Who are you?
What do you stand for?
What is your next big personal objective?
How would you like to contribute in your next role.

She says that being able “to boil down your entire existence into such a short package is one way to discover your essential personal statement to the world. At least, what you’d like your essential personal statement to be”.

Of course, help is also at hand at RB.
We have our own excellent Student Tool Kit which has been pulled together using tips and advice from RB’s graduates, interns and trainees from all over the world.
It’s all aimed at giving you that head start in your career. To make sure you have all the information you need to go out and get the job you want.

Hope it helps!
